Parent Advisory Committee
The Lenawee County Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) supports special education by reviewing and providing input on the LISD special education plan.

Surrogate Parents
For students in specific circumstances, Surrogate Parents provide an essential and supportive voice in their special education journey. Guidance and information about surrogate parents in Michigan is available in the Appointment of Surrogate Parents for Special Education and Early Intervention Services from MDE.

Due Process & State Complaints
Overview
Parents of Lenawee County students are encouraged to access facilitation and mediation resources through their building administrator, Special Education Regional Supervisor, local or LISD Special Education Director, and agencies like SEMS.
If such steps do not adequately resolves issues in early intervention and special education, Heather Reau, LISD Monitor/Representative may also provide support. This may include assistance with problem solving, mediation, or filing a state complaint.
