Carsen Wonders is headed to Michigan State University, where he will double major in Political Theory & Constitutional Democracy and Social Relations & Policy after graduating from the JC/LISD Academy this spring.

Lila Mouton-Howard is taking her next step to Grand Valley State University, where she will study Finance and Accounting after graduating from the JC/LISD Academy this spring.

"The academy has allowed me to earn 63 college credits, and earn my associate's degree in Business Administration at Jackson College."

Soren Stockmyer is heading to Northern Michigan University to study Accounting after graduating from the JC/LISD Academy this spring.

Ethan Flumignan is heading to Western Michigan University this fall to study Education & History after graduating from the JC/LISD Academy this spring.

After graduating this spring, Daniel Apger will be taking the next step in his journey to pursue Business Administration at Adrian College.

"The JC/LISD Academy is a phenomenal school and I am lucky to have been a part of it, the teachers there are the best I have ever had, and they are all very helpful and supportive and push students to overcome their insecurities and excel not only in education but also in social interaction. The staff such as Mrs. Case and Kandice and the principal and Mrs. Dusseau are also very nice and pushes students to become the best versions of themselves."

Students recently enjoyed a theatre-filled field trip, experiencing improv comedy, a one-act play, and a vocal cabaret. Along the way, they connected with fellow theatre students, explored different performance styles, and left feeling inspired by what’s possible on stage.
Moments like these spark creativity, build confidence, and remind our students why the arts matter. We can’t wait to keep the momentum going as we head toward our own spring production!

All LISD Student Programs and Lenawee County Public Schools will be CLOSED on Friday, January 23, 2026, due to the extreme cold temperatures. This includes ALL Special Education, Transportation, Preschool, TECH Center, JC/LISD Academy, and PREP Academy programs.
Today was one of those full-circle moments at the JC/LISD Academy.
Alumni returned to campus to share where their paths have taken them and to talk directly with our current students.
The conversations were real, encouraging, and packed with advice from people who once sat in the very same seats. Watching former students pour back into the next generation is exactly what makes this community special.
Grateful for our alumni, proud of our students, and excited for everything ahead.

LISD Transportation and Special Education programs will operate on a two-hour delay today, Tuesday, September 23. JC/LISD Academy and LISD PREP Academy will operate on a one-hour delay. All morning preschool programs are cancelled for today.
