LISD TECH Center Welding students, Miranda Jenks and Elijah Rupp, from Blissfield High School, volunteered their time to present at the Blissfield Elementary career fair. They educated the students about welding safety and career opportunities. The presentation included a basic explanation of welding, a display of their welding uniforms and safety gear (such as jackets, gloves, steel-toe boots, and helmets), a hands-on display of welded objects for the students to examine, and a discussion on the various industries where welders can work.

From catapulting ping-pong balls across the room to building bridges out of straws, students were having a blast today at the Tri-County Elementary Science Olympiad. There was a ton of energy from the thrill of competition, the joy of teamwork and the chance to explore a new science challenge. Linda Knape led a great event this year on the campus of Siena Heights University.

The LISD TECHnicians team #5144 has been hard at work preparing for their upcoming robotics competition. Students are tasked with designing and building their robot to complete the challenge assigned. Let's wish them the best of luck as they work on final touches.

With all of the recent cold weather, what better way to "warm up" and have a little fun than a "Chili Cook-Off" luncheon? Recently, our LISD Transportation Department had several display their culinary skills, have some hot chili, and enjoy each other's company. There was a competitive element, as consumers were able to vote for their favorite dish!
This year's winners were:
1st place – Cori Siegel
2nd place – Maria Driemeyer
3rd place – Michael Courington
