Seventy-five kids in Lenawee County walked into Meijer with a hero by their side and walked out with something far bigger than toys. They found connection. They found kindness. They found adults who showed up for them simply because they matter. This year’s Shop with a Hero event brought police officers, firefighters, EMS teams, college athletes, and community volunteers together to give local kids a night they will never forget. One student looked up at his hero and said, “I don’t want this night to end.” And honestly, neither did we.
