Adrian, MI – The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) held its Biennial Election on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the LISD Education Service Center. During this official gathering of designated representatives from Lenawee County’s constituent school districts, three seats on the LISD Board of Education were filled.
Dale Wingerd was unanimously re-elected to a six-year term after running unopposed. Wingerd brings extensive experience in public education leadership, having served on the Clinton Community Schools Board since 2006. He is also an active member of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), currently serving as President-Elect and in his third term with the association. His continued service to LISD will benefit from his statewide perspective and long-standing commitment to educational policy and governance.
Carrie Dillon was also elected unanimously to a four-year partial term. Dillon had been appointed by the LISD Board of Education in May to fill a vacancy created by the passing of longtime board member Richard Germond. Germond served the LISD Board of Education with distinction for 25 years, and his contributions to public education in Lenawee County are deeply appreciated and fondly remembered.
Dillon previously served as a dedicated member of the LISD from July 2015 to May 2023 and brings a wealth of experience and a strong voice for students and educators. She is currently a Departmental Specialist in Finance and Analysis with the State of Michigan’s Labor and Economic Opportunity – Unemployment Insurance Agency in Detroit.
Dillon is actively engaged in the community, serving as the current President of the Adrian Noon Rotary, a volunteer on the Downtown Development Authority Board, and the educational representative on the Lenawee County Planning Commission. A strong advocate for public education, Dillon has earned the Master Diamond Award status from the Michigan Association of School Boards, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and leadership. She previously served on the Morenci Area Schools Board of Education from 2006 to 2018 and regularly participates in LISD events that celebrate student and staff success.
Kevin Fry secured the two-year partial term seat after facing challenger Christopher Porter. Fry, a longtime Lenawee County resident and current resident of the Hudson School District, brings both business and educational experience to the Board. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Adrian College and is co-owner of Clayton Lumber, Inc. in Clayton, MI. His community involvement includes service on the Goodwill Industries Board of Directors and two terms on the HOPE Center Board. He also has personal ties to the LISD through his daughter, who participated in programs such as Project SEARCH and Adult Transition Support Services.
The LISD also extends its sincere appreciation to Kathryn Mohr, who did not seek re-election after serving more than 13 years on the Board of Education. Her dedication to students, educators, and the LISD mission has left a lasting impact, and the district is grateful for her years of service and leadership.
The newly elected members will begin their terms on July 1, 2025. The Board’s annual organizational meeting will be held later this summer to establish leadership roles and goals for the coming year.
