Personally Engage Learning throughout Middle & High School
I am a motivated learner mastering skills at my pace. I am equipped with technology and tools I can utilize anytime, from anywhere. I am connected to passionate adults helping me learn in environments designed with me in mind.
The learners of Lenawee County will be given opportunity to access and master content and skills through individualized (customized) learner-centered programming.
2018 Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth (MiPHY) student survey:
39% of Lenawee County middle school and high school students reported being bored in school and/or rarely seeing a connection between their studies and the world they live in. The results indicate disengagement of students in their studies. Research supports the concept that more engaged learners will yield better results and a healthier experience.
There is currently no common measurement being utilized to assess learner engagement throughout middle school and high school in Lenawee County. However, there is a common framework schools and communities are beginning to adopt in order to improve the social emotional competence of our learners. The framework comes from CASEL (the Collaborative for Academic Social Emotional Learning).
