Sutton Students Support Special Olympians

LISD students/Sutton Elementary students are preparing for Special Olympics on May 12. Sutton students will be lining the halls and cheering on our athletes before boarding the bus and heading for Siena heights University Fieldhouse.

Sutton 4th graders donated backpacks to the athletes using funds from their 4th grade fund raiser.  In March, the Sutton 4th graders divided into small groups to compete for the best skit/commercial. The group that won was about “Sutton Aide”. The skit was then performed by the students at the spring musical concert. “Sutton Aide” power drink was then available after the concert for a donation. The 4th graders voted to donate the funds to the Sutton Special Olympics team by purchasing backpacks for the team.

Sutton 4th graders gave the backpacks to the student athletes on May 11.  The backpacks contained a bottle of “Sutton Aide” and 2 packages of fruit snack.
