Contact for assistance regarding services for:

  • Adolescent to young adult students with Moderate or Severe Cognitive Impairments.
  • Adolescent to young adult students with Cognitive Impairments and Autism.
  • Young adult students with Severe Multiple Impairments.
  • Students in grades K – 12 with severe Emotional Impairments or other special education eligibility with severe behaviors in school.


LISD Special Education Adult Services Programs:

     The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) provides special education services to adolescent and young adult students between the ages of 12 and 26.  Students who attend  these programs are eligible for special education as, or function as, a student with a moderate or severe cognitive impairment, autism or severe multiple impairments. 

Program Locations:

  1. Adrian Middle School 7/8 –  MoCI program for students age 12 through 14
  2. Adrian High School – MoCI program for students age 15 through 19
  3. Work Support Services – LISD VO-TECH Center  for students age 17/19 through 26
  4. HOPE Community Center – MoCI program for students age 19 through 26
  5. HOPE Community Center – SCI program for students age 16 through 26

Program Skill Focus:

1.      Adrian Middle School 7/8 MoCI Program
  • Increase independence regarding functional skills in the areas of communication, self care, social interactions, safety and mobility.
  • Introduction to domestic living skill set and become familiar with vocational work habits.
  • Preparation and transition planning for level of independence.
  • Participate in activities with students in the general education environment.
2.      Adrian High School MoCI Program
  • Increase and maintain independence level of functional skills in the areas of communication, self care, social interactions, safety and mobility, domestic living
  • Develop a transition plan to support level of independence skill set.
  • Practice work habits and increase domestic living skill set.
  • Participate in activities with students in the general education environment.
3.      Work Support Services - 
  • Assess and develop work habits at greatest level of independence.
  • Regularly use community transit system
  • Develop vocational skill set to become employable in coordination with Goodwill and Michigan Rehab Services.
  • Seek and obtain competitive employment.
  • Independently develop and participate in leisure activity choices.
4.      HOPE Community Center MoCI Program
  • Community instruction for safety and mobility
  • Maintain domestic living and leisure choice skills
  • Increase participation in functional community experiences.
  • Support transition planning to adult living options.
5.      HOPE Community Center SCI Program
  • Increase participation in functional community experiences.
  • Increase and/or maintain therapy interventions.
  • Support transition planning to adult living options.
