LISD Stubnitz Environmental Education Program Family Fall Harvest Celebration, October 22, 2016

The Family Fall Celebration is Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m..  The celebration is a FREE family friendly event that has a “Connecting Nature and Art” theme thanks to program support by the Maurice and Dorothy Stubnitz Foundation and Wacker Chemical Corporation.  Sponsors will be acknowledged on this date along with a full event schedule that includes: a live birds of prey program, nature themed art demonstrations by local artists, kids’ crafts and activities, guided trail hikes, an artist led opportunity to create natural land art along the trails, and refreshments.  This is an exciting opportunity to enjoy and acknowledge environmental and art endeavors here at the LISD and in our community. 

Schedule of Events:

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.          Nature Art Demonstrations – various local artists
                                               Nature Kids Crafts – Stubnitz staff and volunteers

10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.        Ephemeral Art Using Natural Materials – join artist Lorenzo Cristaudo in creating
temporary land art using nature along Heritage Park trails

12:30 – 1:30 p.m.                  Michigan Birds of Prey – live animal program by Michigan Avian Experience

1:30 – 2:00 p.m.                    Guided Trail Hike – enjoy a hike to view the ephemeral land art creations and wildlife
