LISD TECH Center Gold Hammer Award Banquet

LISD TECH Center Gold Hammer Award Banquet

The LISD TECH Center Gold Hammer Award Banquet took place on May 10, 2017. The award, which began in 1969, goes to the top student from two years in the LISD TECH Center programs Building Trades and Residential Construction. Four student candidates are chosen by their peers within the Residential Construction program and are approved by their instructors. The candidates then go through an interview process with a five member advisory committee who determine the winner.

The candidates for this year’s award were: Dakota Knieper (Addison), Randy McTaggart (Madison), Ariel Miller (Britton Deerfield), and Alex Pasley (Addison). The 2016-2017 winner of the Gold Hammer Award is Ariel Miller from Britton Deerfield. Ariel is the first female winner in the history of the award.
