Welcome to the LISD Office of Grants and Development

The Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) Office of Grants and Development coordinates the identification, solicitation and administration of federal, state and private grants for the LISD.

Additionally, the Office works to cultivate relationships with organizations and businesses for the purposes of advancing the mission of the LISD. The Office is under the direction of the LISD Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Research prospective funding opportunities from private and public sources including foundations, corporations and the state and federal government in support of LISD programming.
  • Identify requests for proposals or other funding opportunities that may align with one (or more) of the various service areas that the LISD supports.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with external and internal organizations that may assist in improving the position of the LISD.
  • Develop and submit both competitive and formula grant proposals on behalf of the LISD.
  • Prepares letters of request seeking funding from individuals or organizations in support of the LISD.
  • Serve as a liaison between the LISD and potential or current funding agencies.
  • Work in cooperation with LISD administration and service providers in the administration of grant award contracts.
  • Assists in ensuring compliancy with all grant award contract requirements.
  • Responsible for researching demographic, industry and workforce trends to assist district staff in assuring that curriculum is both comprehensive and practical in its implementation.
  • Identifies and recommends strategic funding plans based upon district and community wide strategic planning.
  • Provide support to LISD and local district faculty/staff in the areas of grant procurement and administration.

Lenawee County Education Foundation Teacher Mini-Grants

The Lenawee County Education Foundation (LCEF) in conjunction with United Bank & Trust awards teacher mini-grant to Lenawee County educators for innovative projects that would otherwise not occur due to a lack of local funding. Mini-grants are awarded for up to $500, and applications are typically due in March. For additional information, and a copy of the application form, please visit: www.lenaweecef.org/.

The Adrian Kiwanis Foundation accepts proposals for competitive grants annually. Grants are awarded for projects/programs that are expected to have an impact in the Adrian area.

Fields of Interest include: community/economic development, education, performing arts and youth development

Grant Range: it is recommended that requests do not exceed $40,000 with most awards ranging from $1,000 – $15,000
